Healing with Essential Oils Oh My! The Possibilities are Endless…

Now, off we go meandering along the healing with essential oils pathway toward a happier and healthier us.

Have I told you lately that I’m really glad you joined me on this Fibro adventure?

Well I am, so thank you.

It’s going to be so much fun, and good for us Fibro warriors at the same time.

Why the sudden interest in learning about healing with essential oils?

Well, I was visiting a friend and she had this steamy thing going in the corner. It was sort of cone shaped and the light was a soft calming blue colour. I figured it was a humidifier or something, but wasn’t really sure. The room smelled nice and as I sat there I felt pretty relaxed.

When I asked her about it she said it was a “diffuser”. I nodded, not quite knowing what the heck that meant. She went on to explain that it was for dispersing essential oils into the air and that she was using a special essential oil recipe blend to de-stress. Ahhh, that made scents ;)

I'll try to take and post some videos of my adventures with essential oils. Follow me on youtube if you'd like.

Another lady started talking about how healing essential oils have been for her young autistic son and another about how her breathing has improved since she stopped using store bought cleaners.

I found it odd, but interesting when they started exchanging essential oil recipes for this that and the other thing. I mean it sounded like for every issue there was a blend of essential oils that could help with healing.

Using essential oils to make your own cleaning supplies

Does the use of harsh chemicals around the house bother you? I know I find it worrisome, that while I’m trying to protect my family from germs I’m somehow exposing us to something worse.

Do you wonder about what’s in your soap, shampoo, deodorant and other personal hygiene products? Plus, what about the various creams we rub into our skin? I’ve started to learn a little about what is in some mass produced personal hygiene products. The science is beyond my tired fibro brain’s ability to think about. But, the way I see it is, if these ingredients are so complicated probably just best to avoid them.

So I'm going to have fun experimenting with different essential oil recipes for cleaning up around the house and try to come up with a few of my own for pain relieving skin creams.

I’m kind of known for liking things to smell clean and fresh. I’ve always enjoyed aromatherapy oils for helping with moods. It just makes sense that scents which remind you of happy times would also help relieve anxiety and help you to relax.

But, what I wasn’t aware of was the awesome healing powers of many essential oils and their usefulness as safe cleaning solutions for around the house.

Anyway, I’m an EO newbie about to make my way down the winding path of healing with essential oils. Happy that you can join me! Going to be tons of fun, discovering the many uses of essential oil. I can’t wait to come up with a few recipes of my own.
